Gift Designations

  • Unrestricted Gift: A gift made without any condition or designation. These gifts are used for general operating support.

  • Restricted Gift: A gift that has been designated for specific uses, as noted by the donor.

  • Endowment Gift: A gift that is to be retained and invested for income-producing purposes. A portion of the interest is spent annually and the principal of the gift is invested in perpetuity. A gift to the endowment demonstrates your long-term commitment to the Museum and helps insure its ongoing stability.

  • Tribute gifts.
    • Honor friends or loved ones (Memorial tributes)
    • Commemorate important moments in the lives of friends or loved ones (anniversary, wedding, promotion, birthday, etc.)
All donors who make tribute gifts receive an acknowledgement letter thanking them for their contribution. If you would like the family or the individual that is being recognized to receive a special note of acknowledgement, just indicate their name and address on a separate note with your gift. The Contribution Form can also be used to make tribute gifts.
